About CAQA Skills Institute: simulated registered training organisation (simulated) workplace by CAQA

CAQA Skills Institute is a simulated registered training organisation that delivers nationally recognised training in business and leadership, hospitality, community services and, at its core, training and assessment for the vocational education and training workforce.

CAQA Skills Institute is a simulated registered training organisation that delivers nationally recognised training in business and leadership, hospitality, community services and, at its core, training and assessment for the vocational education and training workforce. Its learners are new trainers moving from industry into teaching, experienced trainers upgrading their credentials, enterprise trainers in large employers, and adult language, literacy and numeracy practitioners. The Institute delivers on campus, in workplaces, online and in blended mode, and it works closely with employers so that every program reflects what industry needs from a competent graduate.

The Institute is organised into six departments: Training and Delivery, Assessment Services, Compliance and Quality, Student Services and Support, Learning Design and Resources, and Industry Engagement and Partnerships. The Footscray campus runs day and evening classes across five days, the Bendigo campus serves regional employers and apprentices, and the online hub supports learners nationally with scheduled webinars and asynchronous study. Trainers and assessors are allocated to programs through the trainer matrix, and every program has a current training and assessment strategy approved before enrolments open.

Every decision about delivery, assessment and support starts with what the learner needs to succeed and to be treated fairly.

A competent decision means the person can do the job. We never issue a credential that the evidence does not support.

Our trainers keep their vocational skills current and our programs are built with employers, not just for them.
